Innovative Packaging

We want to make sure your ingredients are delivered to your door fresh and safe. We reduce packaging where possible, and are continuously looking to optimise and innovate our meal kits with quality and sustainability in mind.

Meal kit bags and boxes

Our meal kit bags and boxes, including the stickers, are all made of paper and cardboard. That means they’re kerbside recyclable! Simply empty your meal kit bags and flatten your box then pop them into your yellow bin.

Plastic Wrappers

We're always looking for ways to reduce the plastic waste in every box. While we develop sustainable packaging solutions that meet our rigorous quality standards, we'll continue to use plastic wrappers for some ingredients. While REDcycle has temporarily paused in-store recycling services, please dispose of these in your red bin.

Paper cool pouch

We’re rolling out a new 100% kerbside recyclable paper cool pouch. It keeps your goodies fresh without plastic insulation or extra ice packs. Simply empty and dry it, then put it in your kerbside recycling bin. Some customers may still receive plastic cool pouches for a short time. Please dispose of these in your kerbside general waste bin.

Australasian Recycling Label (ARL) Program

HelloFresh is committed to the Australasian Recycling Label (ARL) Program to remove confusion and make correct recycling easier for our customers. ARL is a packaging labelling scheme that provides clear recycling guidelines. We’ve started rolling this out on our packaging so keep an eye out for the symbols and follow the instructions to recycle packaging in your box. Find out more about the ARL Program here.
Australian Packaging Covenant

Australian Packaging Covenant

We value learning from others with experience in sustainable packaging. In 2019, HelloFresh signed onto the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation, an agreement between companies in the supply chain and all levels of government to take responsibility in reducing the environmental impacts of consumer packaging.
